Guidance for Permits
Zoning Permits are required for, but not limited to, the following:
Any Residential or Commercial construction resulting in a new building, alteration, or addition, including but not limited to:
- Garages, attached or detached
- Accessory Building such as but not limited to greenhouses, carports and sheds
- Decks, with or without a roof
- Roof over patio
- Roof structural changes (no permit required to replace shingles)
- Pavilion
- Fence
- Signs
- Swimming Pool and hot tub
- Occupy or use any vacant land
- Change the use of a structure or land to different use
Some construction projects will only require a Zoning Permit, others will require both Zoning and UCC (Uniform Construction Code, also known as building code) Permits, and others will require only a UCC permit.
